The “Managing Disruption: Business Continuity for Legislatures” guide aims to assist Legislative Assemblies to mature as resilient organisations by developing and embedding a business continuity management capability. It has been produced by business continuity professionals who work in legislatures and who have shared good practice through meeting together as LABCoN (Legislative Assemblies Business Continuity Network). The UK Emergency Planning College (EPC) have kindly assisted in its production.
Business Continuity is the capability to maintain urgent, ‘prioritised activities’ to a predetermined level in the event of a business disruption. By developing such a capability, legislatures will mature as confident, competent organisations able to continue to deliver critical services in a coherent manner when business as usual is interrupted.
